Next Steps for Admitted and Confirmed Freshman Students

Complete the checklist below to become the newest Cardinal in the Nest!

If you have not completed your application yet, see the application requirements for freshman students.

If you are a transfer student, see the next steps for admitted transfer students.

Admitted Students

Apply for financial aid beginning December each year to qualify for state, federal and university grants (UIW FAFSA code: 003578). Visit the Financial Aid page to learn more.

Meet with your admissions counselor to review your financial aid award letter. When ready, confirm your attendance by submitting your $200 confirmation fee to begin the enrollment process. This step does not apply to part-time or non-degree-seeking students.

Confirmed Students

To set up your UIW account, navigate to http://apps.delicious-drop.com and sign in with your UIW email address and the temporary password sent to you by the UIW Help Desk. You will receive it within three days after you confirm your attendance.

Use these instructions to help complete your account setup. Once you have finished setting up account, you will be directed to the main webpage. Before logging out, it is important that you reset your password for continued access. To reset your password:

  • Click on your profile image in the top right corner.
  • Select “View account.”
  • Select “Change Password.”
  • Enter your new password in the area labeled "Change Password.”

You can now use GoUIW (http://go.delicious-drop.com) to access many UIW services, including those that will allow you to review financial aid and register for housing.

Texas State Law mandates that all students under the age of 22 entering a Texas college or university provide proof of vaccination against bacterial meningitis during the five years preceding admission to the University. You may submit your vaccination record in PDF format to registrar@uiwtx.edu. Be sure to include your PIDM or date of birth. The Office of Admissions cannot accept meningitis medical records.

Note: You must have your meningitis shot on record, if applicable, to enroll in classes and apply for on-campus housing.

Information about on-campus housing is available on the Residence Life website. Applications for housing can be completed through the StarRez student housing portal found in your Cardinal Apps.

Registration for orientation is now open. Once you confirm your attendance to UIW, you can register for orientation. Visit our New Student Undergraduate Orientation webpage for more information.

Since the University of the Incarnate Word is test-optional, to be correctly placed in college-level math, students not meeting the minimum requirements must take the UIW Mathematics Placement through ALEKS Placement, Preparation and Learning (PPL) to be placed in remedial math course (no credit).

Students who meet the following criteria do not need to take the ALEKS:

  • 550 SAT Math minimum or 22 ACT Math minimum
  • 350 minimum on TSI Math
  • "C" or higher in dual credit Math course

Students can complete the UIW Mathematics Placement through ALEKS Placement, Preparation and Learning (PPL).

Advisors are ready to help you create your class schedule at New Student Orientation! Registration opens May 1. Submit the Advising and Scheduling Questionnaire as soon as possible. For proper scheduling, submit all official transcripts and test scores at least five business days before your orientation date.

All UIW students must have medical insurance. If you are insured by a family plan, please ensure you waive coverage through the University by the designated deadline to avoid charges. Visit the Business Office webpage for more information.

Submit your final official documents to admissiondocs@uiwtx.edu or mail official high school transcripts to the address below. If you have dual credit, submit an official college transcript. Also submit any AP or CLEP scores.
